California Strip Poker 1.1: Now with voices!
California Strip Poker 1.1 is now available for download, with a major exciting new feature: Player voices!
All existing players are now fully voiced, and they will tease you mercilessly when you lose your clothes, so watch out! They will also sometimes comment on the quality of the cards in their hands, so listen carefully for intel. Be careful though: when they bluff, they lie.
There is a lot of different voice clips (~70 lines * 7 players = ~500 clips) and they are all computer-generated, so there are a few absolute duds in there. I am still tweaking these, so go ahead and report what you feel are the most groan-inducing lines in the comments so I can target them for replacement. Also, if anyone can contribute some real human voice-acting, I would be very happy to talk to you!

- Fixed belt unbuckling sounds to be the right length
- Updated music volumes to be lower and more consistent across the different tracks

love this update. Denise’s voice is spot on. I’m going to work on some more outfits after tomorrow . Got sidetracked with some life stuff :)

Glad you like her voice. It's not at all how I was imagining she would sound, but there weren't very many good english voices to choose from, so I had to dip into the British/Australian/Indian accented ones to make do.
Most certainly a fan of this update. It's probably a good thing there isn't a Discord, or I could start throwing out ideas.
The voicework isn't bad, though there are some odd choice of lines sometimes. It seems odd for one of the girl's to comment about, "move your hands", when the player's shirt comes off (and they're male). That would fit better with the loss of briefs, potentially.
At the moment, about the biggest letdown in the game, personally, is if you happen to lose. While I can get not just letting the player sit around naked and watch the rest of the game unfold (in the tradition of Valkyrie's Hentai Strip Poker), it's also kind of a shame the entire game just stops. It doesn't feel very 'natural', I guess? I can understand not wanting to perhaps 'reward' defeat, but I think it'd be better if there was something then just the game ending.
I know in my test, there was an interesting moment where the girl's all went through like 3 or 4 voice lines in sequence upon player defeat, which I thought was a nice glitch (I assume). The girls being able to really comment on that was nice, and its sort of a shame it just stopped!
Not an accident. When you lose clothing, each girl has a chance to comment. But when you lose your last bit of clothing, they always all comment. Just to really rub it in.
Once you're naked, the ladies already got what they want. They wouldn't keep playing. They would sit there, enjoy the show and keep making comments. I should swap in the "i am bored" idle lines for additional teasing after the game has ended in defeat. And the reverse when the game has ended in victory, too. I can probably reuse half the undressing lines for that. I'd add some moaning lines for the finales, if I could only get those computerized voices to make non-word sounds.
We had tossed the idea around of letting people re-buy once after they lose in on of the other threads. Get your clothes back, and get another shot at undressing the ladies, but no finales or unlocks for you at the end. If I keep hearing the game is too hard, that might actually get added...
Ah so that was intentional, not bad at all then.
And hmm, that is a fair point I suppose. Reminds me of some of the older strip poker games, where once the player lost their last bit of clothing, the opponent would just say: "Well, I've seen all I came to see. I'll quit while I'm ahead." kind of thing. If the girls are playing against the male player in that kind of situation, I suppose them just ending the game then makes sense. A shame the player can't catch onto this plan, and try to cheat out an extra bit of clothing by covering up or something...
Well, on the topic of a re-buy or something, maybe it could be done as a like forfeit thing? In a game like this, a standard would probably just be masturbating for their enjoyment. That could be fun to combine with the voices. But I admit, some of this is just my own personal tastes, since that is one of the better parts of Strip Poker Night at the Inventory.

So that is what the mystery 1.1 upload was about?! Time to give this a try. Even if its just computer generated voices, curious to see how that'll sound. I haven't thought of voice work in strip poker games since Rebel Strip Poker years ago.
And that was only when the girl was losing!
Artworx Strip Poker Professional also had voices in the later releases. Same thing: Only when someone was undressing. I actually took that "move your hand" line from there. :)
